A bit about us

Our aim is to support and enhance the development of the children and to respect, understand and value the contribution that you as parents make towards your child’s learning.

Parents will have access to information regarding the curriculum activities and events through letters, written information placed on the parents notice board, and a termly newsletter.

Parent Consultation weeks will be held in the Autumn and Spring giving parents an opportunity to have an informal chat with their child’s Key Person. However, appointments can be made with Key Person or Mrs Anderson at any time. Parents are also welcome to come in and help during a setting session by arrangement.

EYFS CurRiculUm

The aim of the setting is to provide a curriculum, which promotes the ‘Early Learning Goals’ identified by the Department for Education.

We aim to:

  • a. Provide quality learning experiences for all the children. Learning which is structured, balanced, and relevant to every child.
  • b. To provide a curriculum that takes into account a child’s development needs and allows them to make progress. “What a child can do” will be our starting point.
  • c. To ensure the children have positive experiences of success at their own levels in order to give them confidence and motivation for learning in the future.
  • d. To provide a curriculum that provides equal learning and developmental opportunities for all the children within the setting.

The facilities designated for the group are contained within one large hall, two spacious but smaller rooms, an outdoor play area and a garden. Activities are carried out on a rotational system each session, enabling each child to experience the overall programme.

A program of experiences based upon a mixture of general and topic-based activities will be implemented.

It will provide children with opportunities to work as an individual and as part of a small or large group. It will be based around structured and unstructured activities and will provide opportunities for both free play and adult-led experiences.

Parents

We wholeheartedly understand and support the importance of your role in your child’s academic and emotional development. This is why we encourage parental involvement throughout your child’s time with us, through a variety of different ways. They include home observations, parent-led activities, parent stay and plays and much more.
